Finishing off with Leo!
17 years old; Took over as head of the family when their father went to make ends meet in the West. He does his best to keep his brothers together and out of trouble, while working several jobs.
Here’s Donnie! Almost done!
14 years old; Out of all of the brothers, Donnie has gone through the most jobs, due to him sneaking in reading time and easily losing interest in the menial work offered to kids. He wishes more than anything to go back to school, but he feels that he needs to do his part to support his family. Like any Don, he is very intelligent for his age, and uses just about anything he can find around the city for his projects.
“I don’t know about this Mikey…”
“You’ll be fine! All it really is is yelling for people’s attention until they buy the paper from you!”
“But they like you. Not many people like me outside of our family… I’ll just find a more suitable job for myself.”
“Please Raph, come with me! You just got back, and I’ve missed you.”
“… All right. Where do we start?”

16 years old; Raph has recently returned from running away almost three years ago. He has been jumping trains and doing heavy lifting jobs around the country, and has also been West looking for their father. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful on the latter, and went straight home to tell Leo. He now tag-teams with Mikey as a newsie. He doesn’t like the job, but he wants to keep an eye out for his little brother.

11 years old; Newsboy. Mikey’s been optimistic about their family’s life, no matter what has happened to them. He’s a successful newsie for his age, and gets a lot of regulars. His reputation has gone down somewhat since he convinced Raph to come along (he intimidates people), but that doesn’t bother him one bit. He’s just glad to have his big brother home.
